26/01/2019 - Could you be interested in becoming a Parish Councillor?

The term of office for the current Parish Council will soon be concluded (yes, we’ve been going for four years!), and local elections will take place on 2 May. There are currently five members of the council, but we have the capacity to elect seven councillors.

At our meeting on 13 March at 7pm at the Community Pavilion we will spend some time talking about what our responsibilities are and what we’ve been able to achieve over the past four years, in order to (hopefully) encourage others to become councillors. If you’re interested, why not come along? You won’t be committing to anything but if you would like to join us we can talk through the nomination process (which isn’t onerous).

If you can’t make the meeting and you are interested in becoming a Parish Councillor, please do give me a ring on 01273 475148, or email me on

Just over a mile away from the town of Lewes and nestling at the foot of the Sussex Downs, Kingston is protected on its northern and western sides by high ranges of hills.

Many of the older houses are in the original village centre "The Street", with an interesting and picturesque mix of cottages and larger farmhouses as well as the local 14th Century pub The Juggs and St Pancras Church.

The village offers a number of recreational facilities through its two greens, parish hall and community pavilion as well as being an ideal base for walkers and cyclists to explore the beautiful South Downs and surrounding areas.
