Traffic Survey – ANPR Cameras

ANPR Traffic Survey

The Parish Council continues to try to reduce the impact of traffic in the village.  We will be conducting an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera survey of vehicles passing through the village from Tuesday 2nd July to Saturday 6th July (inc) to record the number of vehicles that pass straight through the village, in either direction, and also the number of over-weight and over-sized vehicles that use Ashcombe Hollow in contravention of the restrictions there.  We are conducting this survey following discussion with the County Council with the aim of securing evidence to enable them to work with us on measures to prevent the large vehicles using the village as a cut-through, to reduce unnecessary through trips, to reduce traffic speeds and to make the overall environment in Kingston more conducive for residents enabling us to enjoy our idyllic South Downs location.
