5th November 2020 Transport Information

The Lewes bonfire celebrations have been cancelled this year though there is still some potential for disruption in the town. Kingston has been involved with road closures / restrictions in the past but it has been made clear that there will be no changes to roads this year.

However there are changes to the train services to control the number of any visitors still trying to travel to Lewes regardless of the events being cancelled.

Filming at Kingston Church

A crew will be filming at Kingston Church as part of an ITV drama production on 1st and 2nd of October. Pop-up gazebos will act as weather cover on St Pancras Green for cast and crew during filming.

Kingston Parish Council continues to follow the Government guidelines.

The community pavilion is still undergoing an insurance assessment following the flood and until this, and the boiler repair is carried out, the building is likely to remain closed to the public despite any changes in Government guidelines. The insurance company has offered a settlement and the pavilion committee are raising work quotes to get the pavilion up and running as soon as possible..

The Tennis Courts are open to facilitate play between limited numbers in accordance with the Government and Lawn Tennis Club guidelines. Details may be obtained from Kingston Tennis Club.

The children’s play area is now open following a Covid risk assessment carried out by Lewes District Council (who are contracted to carry out risk assessments for KPC on a monthly and annual basis)

The Village Green and St Pancras Green are available for residents to enjoy out-door exercise but the council asks that people please follow the latest staying safe guidance and social distancing rule.
